1914-2025: The National Institute of Ancient Drama, now known as the Inda Foundation, has been revitalizing the tradition of classical shows at the Greek Theater of Syracuse for 111 years. To mark this anniversary, a program has been arranged featuring both timeless classics and exciting innovations.
The 2025 season at the Greek Theater will showcase two tragedies and a comedy:
- Oedipus at Colonus by Sophocles, directed by Robert Carmen, translated by Francesco Morosi
- Electra by Sophocles, directed by Roberto Andò, translated by Giorgio Ieranò
- Lysistrata by Aristophanes, directed by Serena Sinigaglia, translated by Nicola Cadoni
These works share a common theme: a passion for the Greek theater of Syracuse.
Giuliano Peparini, the director, choreographer, and artistic director, will make his return on September 27 and 28 with Horai: The Four Seasons. This performance will feature dance, music, and poetry, all centered around the theme of universal love.
In July, Peparini will also present a world premiere in Syracuse, showcasing a new original creation based on the Iliad.
